Martin vs Poteet

Game Summary
The top of the first inning saw the Warriors go down in order. Trevor Slocum took the mound for the Warriors, got the first batter to pop up on the first pitch and then gave up 2 singles, a triple and walked a batter before striking out the final two batters of the inning. Poteet went up 2 – 0 in the first inning. Tyler Wilhelm started out for Martin with a single, he later scored on Kyle Chatham’s single in the second inning. Martin held Poteet scoreless in the second. The third saw a single by Ryan Walker. Trey Thompson then hit a RBI double to even up the score 2-2. In Poteet’s half of the inning the first batter hit a single but was thrown out at second trying to stretch it into a double. The next batter got on due to being hit by a pitch but then was removed from the base pads when the third Poteet batter of the inning hit into a nicely played 6-4-3 double play. The fourth inning saw the Warriors retired in order followed by Poteet doing the same. The first batter popped a bunt up to Slocum in front of the mound, second batter popped up to second base and the third batter was sat down swinging. The Warrior half of the fifth saw a single from Jordan Hasler who was put out at second on a fielders choice by Matt Kazmierski who scored a couple of batters later when Walker once again hit a single. Poteet’ first batter of the inning got on after being binged by a pitch and stole second. The second batter was trying to move this runner on over to third with a bunt. He popped up the ball and Slocum dove at the baseline to catch the ball for the first out. The next two batters were thrown out or popped up in the infield to leave the lead off guy stranded. During the top of the sixth the Warriors added 3 due to a double by Thompson, singles from Slocum and Alec Shurack, a walk dealt to Wilhelm and a perfectly executed squeeze bunt from Jordan Hasler. In the bottom of the inning it got a little hairy when Slocum walked the first two batters, struck out the third and walked the fourth to load the bases. Slocum then struck out the next batter to come to bases loaded and two outs. The next batter reached on the only Martin error of the game and Slocum once again issued a walk to push across two more runs for Poteet. Slocum then struck out the next batter to end the game, 6 – 4 Warriors.
