Martin vs Arlington

Game Summary
The Mighty Warrior Freshman displayed an awesome hitting show against their cross town rivals, the Arlington Colts. Alex Bradley was on the mound for the Warriors and shut the Colts offense down by throwing a no hitter. The first inning had Keith Carney going yard for the 2nd time this year scoring the 2 runs. The hits kept coming with singles from Aaron Warren and Brady Harvey with Nathan Gourley stroking a double. The Warriors put 4 on the board in the opening half of the inning. The Colts were 3 up/3 down in the bottom of the 1st. The 2nd inning Gourley, Harvey and Andy Trimm singled but could only get 1 run out of 3 hits. In the bottom of the 2nd, Russell Bellomy showed off his vertical leap at short stop, nabbing what should have been a hit by the Colts. Offensively in the 3rd the Warriors came out slugging again scoring 4 runs on 4 hits. Warren, Gourley and Harvey singled and Bradley shot a double to the fence. The first batter for the Colts was hit by a pitch giving them 1 of their 3 base runners for the night. It was a short lived stay though with 2 more K’s and a put out at 2nd. Top of the 4th was no different offensively for the Warriors, 3 hits and 4 more runs. Gourley continued to be on fire knocking his 2nd double for the night. Trimm and Warren did their job with a single each. In the bottom of the 4th, with 2 outs the Warriors were in danger of having another base runner because of a throwing error from 3rd base. Gourley’s heads up play stopped that from happening by his backing up the throw behind 1st base and when the runner decided to go Carney was waiting on him at 2nd, ball in hand from Gourley’s throw. Top of the 5th, another 4 hits, another 4 runs. Bellomy had a single, Harvey and Emilio Vialpando had doubles with Warren hitting a triple. Bottom of the 5th Bradley threw 3 K’s to end the game. He faced 18 batters with 9 K’s and 1 HBP.
