Martin vs Duncanville
Game Summary
The 1st inning was a very exciting start with lots of hits and runs for
the Warriors! Jacob Mizell led off with a double to right center. Jantzen Witte
also hit a double but to left field and scored Mizell. Jordan Imhoff hit a
grounder to the third baseman who bobbled it allowing him to reach first base.
Chase Brown drew a walk to load the bases. Daniel Garcia was up next and hit a
three RBI double to left center. Brian Ragira then hit a two run homer over the
right center field wall! Jay Hiller hit a single to right center but was left on
base. In the 2nd inning Mike Chovanec reached base on an error by the second
baseman. Witte hit a sacrifice bunt to move Chovanec to second base. Chovanec
then stole third base to put him in easy scoring position. Imhoff was up next
and walked. He attempted to steal second base and was thrown out, but not before
Chovanec reached home safely. Garcia grounded out in the top of the 3rd inning
followed by a base hit by Ragira. Hiller got a base hit as well, but both were
left on base as the next two batters struck out. Witte got the only hit in the
4th inning with a nice double to left center but no one was able to bring him
home. In the 5th inning Garcia led off with a walk. Shane Griffin went in to run
for him and reached second base on a wild pitch. He stole second base putting
him in the perfect scoring position when Chase Jensen hit a base knock down the
left field line. Jensen was left on base at the end of the half inning. Chovanec
led off with a triple in the 6th and Witte reached base on balls. Imhoff walked
again, then Brown hit a sacrifice fly to right field scoring Chovanec. Imhoff
reached second base on a wild pitch. Garcia drew a walk and then Ragira hit a
sacrifice fly to center field scoring Witte. The Warriors left Imhoff and
Griffin on base as Hiller flew out to left field. Chovanec got a base hit in the
top of the 7th after two outs. Witte walked and both were left on base as Imhoff
grounded out to first base.
Mike Hill led off on the mound for the Warriors. He allowed one run on three
hits and three walks and struck out three. In the 4th inning Hill got into some
trouble when the first batter reached base on a catcher interference call and
then two back-to-back walks loaded the bases. Coach decided to make a pitching
change and brought in Stewart Person. The next batter flew out to left field and
the runner on third scored. The final batter of the inning hit an in field fly
for the second out and Jensen threw the ball to Witte to get the runner out at
second for the final out of the inning. Person allowed one run on six hits, two
walks and three strikeouts.
