Martin vs Mansfield
Game Summary
Kevin Winter pitched against the Mansfield Tigers. The Tigers
got four runs on eight hits. Kevin struck out two batters and had one hit
batter. The defense was solid making good plays. One that stood out was a
one-man double play by Mike Chovanec to end the 5th inning. He caught a hit to
first and then stepped on the bag catching the first base runner with too big of
a lead.
The Warrior offense had a lot of fun with a lot of hits. Jacob Mizell led off
with a base on balls and stole second base. He then moved to third on a wild
pitch and stole home. Jantzen Witte hit a triple up the middle and scored on
Jordan Imhoff’s base hit. Chase Brown and Garcia each got base hits with Imhoff
scoring off Garcia. Shane Griffin entered to pinch run for Garcia. Brian Ragira
was up next and hit a triple scoring Brown and Griffin. Chase Jensen then hit a
single scoring Ragira. Kyle Blackwell and Mizell each reached base on an error,
but were both left on base as Chovanec grounded out to end the 1st inning. Witte
led off in the 2nd with a base hit and was thrown out attempting to steal
second. Imhoff reached base on an error and stole second. He moved around to
third on Brown’s sacrifice fly but was left on base when Garcia grounded out to
the short stop. We only got one base runner in the 3rd when Blackwell reached
base on an error but was left on base as Mizell grounded out to short as well.
In the 4th inning Witte, Imhoff and Brown got three doubles in a row. Imhoff
scored Witte and Brown scored Imhoff. Garcia got on base after being hit by a
pitch and Brown stole home. Griffin went in as pinch runner and stole second
base and then scored on an error. Jay Hiller went in to bat in the 5th and hit a
double. Time was called before the end of the inning with the Warriors beating
the Tigers 11-4
