Martin vs Keller Central

Game Summary
Stewart Person pitched a shut out win against the Keller Central Chargers allowing 3 hits and striking out four batters. Jantzen Witte had a nice double play in the first inning touching second to get the runner out and then making the throw to Mike Chovanec at first to get the batter out. The defense played well with only one error made in the 6th inning.

Our offense was on fire with Jacob Mizell leading off in the 1st with a double. Mike Chovanec followed with a base on balls and Witte hit a single to left. Mizell scored on an error by the short stop trying to field Witte’s hit. In the 2nd Chase Jensen, Kyle Blackwell and Mizell got back to back to back base hits followed by a double by Chovanec, which scored Jensen and Blackwell. Witte grounded out to third, but got the RBI scoring Mizell. Jordan Imhoff was up next and hit a double scoring Chovanec. Daniel Garcia led off with a single up the middle in the 3rd inning. Designated hitter, Brian Ragira, walked and then Jensen hit a fielder’s choice which resulted in an error scoring pinch runner, Shane Griffin. Blackwell then got a base hit scoring Ragira and Jensen and was left on base as the next three batters either flew out or grounded out. Chase Brown got a base hit to right in the 4th inning. Ragira hit a double scoring Brown but was left on base at the end of the inning. In the 5th Paul Gonzalez led off with a single up the middle. The Warriors didn’t manage to put anything else together in the inning and left Gonzalez on base. Time expired in the bottom of the 6th without a hit or run. The Warriors easily won the opening game of the tournament 9-0.
