Game Summary
Brian Ragira had the ball for the Warriors against the Justin
Northwest Texans. Ragira pitched a good game allowing three earned runs on six
hits with one unearned run and one defensive error. He struck out four batters.
Jordan Imhoff came in to pitch the final inning with two strikeouts.
The Warriors came out hitting in the 1st inning with Mike Chovanec, Jantzen
Witte and Jordan Imhoff each getting base hits. Mizell led off with a walk and
scored on Witte’s single and Chovanec scored on Imhoff’s hit. Chase Brown came
up to bat after Imhoff and hit a three run homer! Jay Hiller reached base on
balls and Chase Jensen reached base on a dropped third strike error by the
catcher. Kyle Blackwell was up next and hit a single loading the bases. Mizell
came up to bat again, but grounded out to second ending the inning. Chovanec led
off in the 2nd with a base hit and scored on Brown’s double to left field.
Daniel Garcia hit a single scoring Brown and Shane Griffin went in as pinch
runner. Griffin stole second base but was thrown out trying to steal third. In
the 3rd inning Mizell hit a triple and scored on a wild pitch. Chovanec hit
another single to right field and scored when Witte hit his second home run of
the season! Imhoff and Brown got back-to-back base hits but were left on base at
the end of the inning. The 4th inning Jay Hiller hit a double up the middle but
the remaining Warrior batters were not able to bring him home. The 5th inning
Witte reached base on an error but was thrown out at second as Imhoff hit into a
double play and Brown grounded out as well. In the 6th Ragira went in to hit
getting a base hit with Griffin going in to run for him. Griffin was thrown out
by the catcher while trying to steal second ending the inning. The Warriors won
the game 10-4.
