Martin vs LD Bell

Game Summary
 Jake Mizell led off the 1st inning with a battling walk consisting of nine pitches. Mike Chovanec hit a single for his first at bat. Jantzen Witte hit a sacrifice fly to right field scoring Mizell. Chovanec scored on Jordan Imhoff’s base hit up the middle. Daniel Garcia reached base on a walk and he and Imhoff were left on base at the end of the half inning. The 2nd inning started off with a walk by Chase Jensen who was thrown out by the catcher when trying to steal second. Kyle Blackwell hit a triple to the wall in right center. Mizell followed up with a triple of his own to about the same spot scoring Blackwell and then scored himself on Chovanec’s sacrifice fly to center field. Jordan Imhoff reached base on an error in the 3rd and Brown walked. Imhoff scored on a sacrifice fly by Garcia to left field. Jay Hiller reached base on balls, but was thrown out attempting to steal second. In the 4th inning Mizell hit another triple and scored on Chovanec’s base hit to left center. Witte hit his first home run of the season scoring two. There were no base runners in the 5th inning for the Warriors, but the 6th was a big inning for scoring with Blackwell, Mizell, and Chovanec all reaching base on balls. Witte hit a little grounder to short but was safe at first on an error and Blackwell scored. Imhoff was up next and hit a nice double up the middle scoring Mizell, Chovanec and Witte. Brown reached base on a walk as did Jay Hiller. Brown and Imhoff scored on Blackwell’s single. Hiller and Blackwell were left on base when Mizell flew out to left.

Shane Griffin had the ball for the first two innings allowing one hit and no runs. Imhoff and Chovanec managed a nice double play in the first when Imhoff caught a fly to right and then threw out the runner trying to get back to first. Kevin Winter pitched the 3rd inning and allowed one hit, and he struck out three batters. Mike Hill pitched the 4th striking out two. Stewart Person pitched the 5th striking out all three batters he faced. Brian Ragira finished it off in the 6th with two batters reaching base on errors one on a fielder’s choice and one hit batter. He struck out two and had one unearned run.
