Martin Warriors vs. Flower Mound Jaguars

Game Summary
The Warrior fans came out in droves to cheer on the team with standing room only
before the game even began! We were loud and proud! Kevin Winter started on the
mound for the Warriors striking out two in the first and allowing only one
Jaguar to reach base on a walk. Jantzen Witte was the first Warrior to get on
base on a double to left field. Jordan Imhoff reached base after being hit by a
pitch. Brian Nephew hit a single up the middle scoring Witte. Imhoff and Nephew
were left on base. In the top of the 2nd, the Jaguars got the first batter on
base on a hit to left center and he moved to second on a sacrifice bunt. The
next batter grounded out followed by Winter striking out the final batter. Jake Mizell led off the bottom of the 2nd with a shot back to the pitcher knocking
his hat right off his head! Matt Schimpf hit a great sacrifice bunt to move
Mizell to second base. Chase Brown hit a single to left center and quickly stole
second base. Shane Griffin came in to run for Brown. Harrison Law hit a single
to left center scoring Mizell and stole second base. Witte got a hit to the
short stop loading the bases. Will Keiser was up next and hit a grand slam home
run! The Jags made a pitching change to recover from the string of hits, but
Jordan Imhoff was up next and hit a back-to-back jack! The next Warrior to reach
base was Mike Chovanec with a hit to left field. Chovanec advanced to second on
a balk, stole third base and scored on an error by the short stop making the
score 8-0. In the top of the 3rd, the Jaguars got a hit to right field followed
by two hit batters to load the bases. A sacrifice fly scored their first run and
then a stolen base scored the second run. Two more runs score on a homer by the
Jaguar catcher making the score 8-4. The bottom of the 3rd inning, Witte hit a
solo home run. Keiser then hit a single to left field, moved to second on an
error, and took third and eventually home on pass balls. Imhoff reached base on
a walk, but was left hanging on base. The 4th inning the Jaguars rallied scoring
three more on a hit, an error and another homer by the catcher, bringing the
score to 10-7. Schimpf reached base on a walk for the Warriors only man on base
in the bottom of the 4th. In the top of the 5th, the Jags got a hit up the
middle and scored another run on an RBI double making the score now 10-8. Jordan Imhoff came to the mound in relief striking out his first batter for the final
out. The Warriors were put out 1-2-3 in the bottom of the inning. The top of the
6th inning the Jaguars threatened to score again loading the bases with two
outs. Jake Mizell caught a shot to center field to end the inning and the
scoring threat. The bottom of the 6th Imhoff reached base on a walk. The other
Warrior batters were unable to manufacture a way to get another run in. Imhoff
dominated the final inning from the beginning with a lead off strike out
followed by a ground out to Witte. He struck out the final batter to end the
Regional Quarterfinals with Martin Warriors as the reigning champions!
