Game Summary
The second district game between Sam Houston and Martin is played at Martin
because of a safety issue with the field lights at Sam. Martin has a slow start
to the game and Sam Houston is able to score 2 runs in the bottom of the 1st
inning with a string of hits. Kevin Winter shuts down the Texan scoring in the
second inning with a 1-2-3 inning including 2 strike-outs.
It is the 4th inning before the Warriors are able to score. A bases loaded walk
by Michael Chovanec and a wild pitch to score Brian Nephew jump starts the
scoring. Jacob Mizell then hits a 2 RBI double and Jantzen Witte gets an RBI
single to put the Warriors in the lead 5-2.
The Warriors score again in the 5th with a RBI single by Chase Brown. After a
slow start, the Warriors win the game with 13 hits, 3 HBP, several stolen bases
and a complete game by Kevin Winter.
