Game Summary

The final district match-up with Cedar Hill was another too close for comfort game.  In the top of the 1st Will Keiser hit a triple after two outs, but was left hanging on base.  Mike Hill led off on the mound for the Warriors.  The Longhorns came on strong scoring on a walk, four hits, an error and a hit batter.  The top of the 2nd was a much better inning for Martin.  Brian Nephew lead off with a single and scored when Tyler Martin hit a triple to right center.  Michael Chovanec brought T. Martin home with a grounder to the second baseman.  Jacob Mizell reached base on a walk and advanced to second on an overthrown pick off attempt.  Harrison Law also got a base on balls.  Jantzen Witte hit a double up the middle scoring Mizell and Law, and then Keiser hit a double to left center scoring Witte, pushing the Warriors ahead 5-4.  In the bottom of the 2nd, Jordan Imhoff came to the mound in relief.  The Longhorns got two runners on base with a walk and a base hit up the middle.  The clean up batter hit a home run over right field scoring three putting the Longhorns back on top 7-5.  The 3rd inning was scoreless for both teams.  In the top of the 4th, Law led of with a single up the middle and scored on Keiser’s sacrifice fly to left field bringing the score to 7-6.  It wasn’t until the top of the 6th that the Warriors were able to put together a scoring threat with Keiser reaching base on balls.  Imhoff hit a triple on his first pitch scoring Keiser and tying the game 7-7.  Nephew then hit a sacrifice fly to center field scoring Imhoff pushing the Warriors ahead of the Longhorns by one.  In the top of the 7th the Longhorns changed pitchers and Chovanec started us off with a double to right center, but was left hanging with no other batter able to get him home.  The Warriors held the Longhorns for five straight innings with great defense and great pitching by Imhoff who had 11 total strike-outs in the game.
