Martin - vs
Bowie -
Game Summary
Senior Night was held just before the Bowie vs Martin game honoring the eight
Martin Seniors and their parents. The Martin Baseball Family will miss them all! Thanks for the memories guys!
Shane Griffin pitched a great game with only four runners allowed in the six
innings he pitched and striking out 8 batters. The defense made great routine
plays to keep the Volunteers from scoring. Senior, Zac Zielinski pitched the
final inning with three up and three down. In the bottom of the first inning,
senior Harrison Law led off with a walk. Janzten Witte hit a single, then Jordan
Imhoff reached base on a walk. Tyler Martin hit a sacrifice fly to center field
scoring Law and Witte. In the 2nd inning, Jacob Mizell led off with a walk and
moved to second on an overthrown pick off move by the pitcher. Chase Brown hit a
single up the middle. Law reached on a fielder’s choice when the first baseman
threw the bunt to the catcher to get Mizell out at home plate. Witte walked, and
then Will Keiser got a hit up the middle scoring Brown. Law and Witte both
scored on wild pitches and Keiser scored on Brian Nephews single to left field. Brown and Law each hit singles up the middle in the bottom of the 3rd. Brown
scored on Witte’s sacrifice fly to right field. Imhoff got a single in the
bottom of the 4th but was left hanging on base with no other batters able to get
him home. Daniel Garcia went in to bat in the 5th inning getting a hit to left
field but was thrown out at second when Brown hit into a double play. The
Warriors end the game with another win over the Volunteers bringing their
district record to 10-2.
