Martin   - vs Duncanville -

Game Summary

Once again the District match up with the Duncanville Panthers proves to be a nail biter.  The Warriors started their scoring off on Jordan Imhoff’s three run homer bringing in Jantzen Witte who drew a walk and Will Keiser who reached base on a single.  The defense only allowed one run for the Panthers in the bottom of the first inning.  In the top of the second, Michael Chovanec led off with a single up the middle followed by a single by Jacob Mizell to left field.  Chovanec scored after a fielding error and Mizell scored on a fielder’s choice by Harrison Law bringing the score to 5-1 Martin going into the bottom of the second.  Duncanville scored two tightening Martin’s lead to 5-3. In the top of the 3rd, Tyler Martin walked setting up the two run homer by Chovanec to put the Warriors ahead now 7-3.  The bottom of the 3rd was the magic inning for the Panthers with several hits and a couple of fielding errors allowing them to score five runs to put them ahead 8-7.  Law scored the game tying run in the top of the 4th after hitting a triple and then scoring on a pass ball.  Both teams defense was strong for the next three innings.  Kevin Winter struck out the first two Duncanville batters in the bottom of the 7th making the fans think we were headed into extra innings for sure, but the 3rd batter got a hit to left center field followed by a walk.  The lead runner advanced on a couple of pass balls and then scored when the 5th batter hit a hard grounder to second.  Will Keiser made a great effort to throw the batter out at first, but wasn’t able to get the throw cleanly to Tyler Martin.  The Warriors suffer their second district loss making their record 9-2.
