Martin   - vs DeSoto -

Game Summary

Another questionable weather night for baseball finds the Warriors traveling to DeSoto for their game against the Eagles. Martin begins with a bang in the 2nd inning with back to back homeruns by Brian Nephew and Tyler Martin. Michael Chovanec then hits a single up the middle and is advanced on a series of wild pitches to eventually score the 3rd run in the inning for the Warriors. In the bottom of the 2nd inning with 2 outs, an 0-2 count, and a man on 1st base, the game is suspended due to lightning. After a delay of 30-45 minutes, the officials call the game with plans on continuing the next day.

Shane Griffin throws one pitch and gets a called third strike for the 3rd out to begin the suspended game against the DeSoto Eagles. Jantzen Witte leads off the Warrior 3rd inning with a single and is moved to 3rd base on a double by Matt Schimpf. Jordan Imhoff hits a sacrifice fly to score Witte. The Warriors now lead 4-0. The Warriors score again in the 4th after Chase Brown reaches on a fielder’s choice. Tyler Osier comes in as the courtesy runner for Brown and is advanced on a single by Harrison Law. The bases are loaded after Witte gets hit by a pitch. Schimpf hits a sacrifice fly to score Osier and Law scores on an error by the Eagle catcher. Imhoff hits a RBI single to score Witte. The Eagles are able to score 1 run with 2 walks and a fielder’s choice in their half of the 4th inning. The Warriors get their 8th run with a single by Law that scored Jacob Mizell who was on base with an Eagle error. The Eagles threaten in the 6th with a 1 out triple off the right field wall. That runner is left on third base with 2 good infield plays by the Warriors defense of Griffin and Nephew. The Warriors explode for 5 runs after 2 outs in the 7th. Daniel Garcia hits a single and Osier comes in as a courtesy runner. He scores on another single by Law. Witte reaches on an error and he and Law score on the second double of the game by Schimpf. Imhoff then launches a homerun over the center field fence to score 2 more runs. Adam Glenn got a pinch hit double but unfortunately he was picked off of second base by the pitcher so his glory was short lived. The Eagles get 2 men on in the bottom of the 7th but Griffin closes the door with a strike out to end the game and the Warriors win 13-1.
