Martin - vs
Duncanville -
Game Summary
Can you say persistent? That describes the Warrior offense and defense in a
closely played contest at the Panther’s Home Field. Brian Ragira threw a
7-inning complete game victory for the Warriors. With a solid defense behind him
led by 2nd Baseman Alec Shurack who had 4 fly balls hit to him, an unassisted
out at 2nd, and a 4-3 putout in the 3rd inning. In addition, Ragira teamed up
with 1st Baseman Tony Rizzotti in the 5th inning to put out a Panther runner.
On offense, the Warriors started fast with Rizzotti, Ragira and right fielder
Trey Thompson scoring in the 1st inning. Both Ragira and Thompson scored twice
in this game, with Thompson leading all batters with 3 hits in 3 appearances at
the plate, with 1 RBI. Other runs were contributed by Shurack and shortstop Ryan
Walker. With what has become known as a trademark for this team, the Warrior
offense put even more pressure on the Panthers with 7 stolen bases, including
one run. The offense never let up, even when the Panthers tried to mount a
comeback in the 5th inning. The Warriors answered with the run by Ryan Walker in
the 7th to close out the scoring for the offense.
