Martin - vs
Arlington High -
Game Summary
HELLO WIN COLUMN
The Warriors got back on the horse (or should I say “COLT”) when they got
knocked off and showed them how it is done. The Colts were retired in order to
start the game off and the Warriors failed to score as well despite a single by
Chase Jensen in the bottom of the first. The first Colt batter of the second hit
a home run over the right field fence but then the next three Colts were once
again sat down. The Warriors answered with three runs off singles by Travis
Breslin and Jay Hiller and a double by Trent Hunter. During the third the
Warrior pitcher, Hiller once again gave up no hits and no runs with great
pitching and great support in the field. The bottom of the third saw the
Warriors add a run on Breslin’s second homerun of the season bringing the score
at the end of three, Warriors 4 – Arlington 1. The fourth inning was uneventful
except that Hiller once again set the Colts down 1 – 2 – 3. During the top of
the fifth inning the Colts once again were ineffective and were unable to score.
The Warriors pushed five men across the plate on three walks, a Colt error, a
double from Hiller and a single by Tanner Hapeman. Hiller came out in the top of
the sixth still throwing strong and the defense backed him up to once again hold
the Colts scoreless. In the bottom of the sixth the Warriors took two walks, had
a single by Taylor Peddicord and a ground ball out that scored a RBI for Kyle
Blackwell and put the Warriors up by 10 to run rule the Arlington Colts 11 – 1.
