Game Summary

The Plano East Panthers were out to beat the Warriors after losing to us in the Lewisville tournament the weekend before, but the Warriors gave them a battle to the very end.  The Warriors held the Panthers scoreless until the fourth inning. Martin came out hitting with singles by Chovanec, Keiser and Nephew in the first inning with Chovanec scoring on Nephew’s hit and Keiser scoring on Jantzen Witte’s fielder’s choice.  Chovanec walked in the second and scored by stealing third and then home.  In the third inning, Nephew led with a single followed up by a Tyler Martin single and then Law hit a single scoring both of them.  In the fourth the Panthers scored two, and then Keiser hit a single to start us off and scored on Imhoff’s double.  In the top of the fifth, the Warriors starting pitcher, Jacob Mizell was relieved by Dylan Rucker.  The Panthers got several good hits scoring three more bringing the score to 6-5.  Matthew Schimpf came in to relieve Rucker getting the final out with a grounder to second baseman Will Keiser.  The Warriors couldn’t get a man on base in the bottom of the fifth.  Schimpf pitched the final inning with one hit and a two run homer with one pop up out and two strike outs.  The Warriors only managed to get one hit in the bottom of the sixth by Keiser ending the game with a loss by one run.
