Also in the 6th inning, Michael Chovanec got on with a single and Brian Nephew reached base after being hit by a pitch. Jantzen Witte singled to left center field scoring both Chovanec and Nephew.

Defensively, Keiser and Witte turned a double play in the 4th to get the first 2 outs of the inning and Witte also turned a double play in the 7th inning getting the first 2 batters out in the inning and Schimpf closed out the game with a strike out.
