Game Summary
The Championship game of the Burleson tournament resulted in the Warriors run ruling the Longhorns 14 – 4. All of the Longhorns runs came in the top of the fifth inning. Once again the strong pitching and defense held the Warriors opponent scoreless for the majority of the game. The first inning saw Tanner Hapeman hit a single, Travis Breslin walked and Stewart Person racked up those two RBIs when he hit a single. During the second inning the Warriors were held scoreless although Tanner Hapeman and Michael Glass both hit singles. Person hit his second single of the game during the third inning but the Warriors were unable to capitalize. During the fourth inning Jay Hiller, Breslin and Hunter Reinhardt all singled and Hapeman hit a triple to triple the Warrior runs to 6. The Longhorns put 4 on the board during the top of the fifth and the Warriors came in during their half of the inning and nailed the lid shut by adding 8 more runs. Chase Jensen and Taylor Peddicord both hit doubles, Breslin got a three bagger and Person and Daniel Garcia both hit singles. With no outs in the inning Peddicord’s double scored three RBIs ending the game due to the run rule.
