Lee -
Game Summary
Game 3 was a much more exciting and close game. Martin was once
again the visiting team and scored first in the second inning on an error by the
pitcher. Mike Chovanec led off in the third with a great bunt for a hit and
scored on Jordan Imhoff’s double to right field. Imhoff scored on a hit by
Jantzen Witte bringing the score to 3-0. Jacob Mizell was the starting pitcher. Mizell executed a nice pickoff in the bottom of the second. He threw to first
baseman Matt Schimpf who threw to short stop Jantzen Witte who put down the tag. Kevin Winter relieved Mizell after 2 and 2/3 innings and two runs. Winter
executed an identical pickoff in the top of the fourth with the assistance of Shimpf and Witte once again. The Warriors remained up 3-2 until the top of the
seventh when Imhoff hit another double and scored on Tyler Osier’s single. Osier
scored on Witte’s single bringing the score to 5-2. Winter and the Warrior
defense held Midland Lee in the bottom of the seventh to bring home the win.
