Game Summary
The JV Warriors played a tight, tough game, but came up short of the win losing to the Bowie Volunteers 3-2 in the next to the last game of the season.  Mike Hill takes the loss as the starting pitcher throwing five complete innings.  Hill allowed seven hits, three runs, one walk and three strike outs.  Josh Chambers came in as relief pitching the last two innings allowing two hits and striking out one.  In the first inning, short stop Jantzen Witte made an outstanding double play stepping on second and making a good throw to Mike Chovanec at first. Chase Brown started the Warriors off with a base hit and quickly stole second. Bowie's pitcher loaded the bases with two walks and then walked a third allowing a free run for the home team.  Top of the second the Volunteers came out hitting and scored one.  Matt Schimpf was the lone Warrior on base with a nice double to left center and was left hanging at the end of the inning.  The third was Bowie's inning with a two run homer over the left field fence, then the Bowie defense retired the three Warrior batters up next.  The fourth and fifth innings were scoreless for both teams.  Josh Chambers retired the next three Bowie batters in the sixth and the Warriors attempted to rally to win the game.  Michael Lindsey started off with a base hit.  Christian Hibbs drove a hit up the middle putting two on ready to score.  While Jantzen Witte was at the plate, Lindsey attempted to steal third, but was thrown out.  Hibbs safely stole second and scored on Witte's deep hit to center field bringing the score to 3-2.  Dylan Thompson was the only other Warrior in the inning to get a hit and both he and Witte were left on base at the end of the sixth.  Chambers and the Warrior defense successfully stifled the Vols attempts to score in the last inning.  Brown led off in the bottom of the seventh with a hit up the middle but was thrown out stealing second base.  Shane Griffin followed with a hit to left center and reached second on a pass ball.  Chambers was up next and went down swinging.  Mike Lindsey received an intentional walk.  Hibbs hit a short one to the pitcher and was thrown out at first for the final out.
