Game Summary
The JV Martin Warriors matchup with the Sam Houston Texans was another shut out game. The Warriors utilized several pitchers with Michael Chovanec starting off. He pitched to three batters and had one strike out. Josh Chambers pitched the next two innings, allowing one hit striking out five and walking one. Shane Griffin pitched the 4th inning with three strike outs. Dillon Thompson pitched the final inning with one strike out.
The Warrior offense came out hot in the 1st inning with a single by Chase Brown who scored on a double by Michael Lindsey who rounded third and then came home on an over throw by the catcher. Jantzen Witte was up next and was hit by a pitch and scored on Michael Chovanec's double to left field. Matt Schimpf drew a walk and scored along with Chovanec when Jacob Mizell hit a nice shot to center field that should have only been a single at most. He rounded all the bases and scored as the center fielder chased the ball down and attempted to get it thrown in to make a play. In the 2nd inning, Lindsey started it off with a single to right field and scored when Michael Hill hit a double up the middle. Schimpf hit a triple to left center scoring Hill. In the 3rd inning Ryan Nielsen walked and scored the only run off Lindsey's sacrifice fly to center field. In the final inning, Tyler Osier hit a double to right center and scored the final run on Mizell's double to right center field.
