The Martin Warriors continued their torrid hitting, and capitalized on a critical Viking error enroute to an 11-0 romp in a key district matchup. After two scoreless innings, the Warriors broke through in the third. Will Keiser led off with a walk, stole second, and came around to score when the Viking first baseman bobbled the throw from shortstop on a grounder off the bat of Jordan Imhoff. After Nate Karns walked to put runners at first and second, Zach Laster doubled down the right field line to score another run. Karns and Laster both came around to score on Brian Fite's "gapper" to the wall in left center. The Warriors scoring machine was not finished as Kyle Swearingen blasted his fourth homer of the season over the scoreboard in right center to give Martin a 6-0 lead. Martin's bats went right back to work in the fourth. Bryce Peterman started things off by legging out an infield single. After Karns was hit by a pitch, Laster laced his second double of the night, this one to left field, scoring Peterman. Fite followed with a single to center scoring two more. Swearingen's single put runners at first and second, then Regan Dixon's double to deep right center brought in the final two runs of the night. Karns was dominant on the mound, giving up only two hits and striking out five, and the Warrior defense was flawless.
