Game Summary

The District matchup against the JV Arlington Colts was an easy win for our JV Warriors thanks to excellent pitching and a strong defense.  Zac Zielinski pitched a no-hitter!  He threw to a total of 20 batters, striking out 10 and walking 3.  The first two batters reached base on walks but were picked off.  There was one fly ball hit to left field easily caught by Jake Mizell.  In the 2nd inning there was one error and a nicely fielded hit to short stop, Jantzen Witte who made an on-the-run throw to first baseman Michael Chovanec for the out.  Zielinski helped himself in the 3rd fielding a shot back to the mound making the throw to first for the out.  In the 3rd inning, catcher Justin Bateman caught a pop up to make the out.  In the fourth one runner was walked and then thrown out at 2nd when the next batter hit a grounder to short stop reaching first on a fielder's choice.  In the final inning a hit to second was cleanly fielded by Matt Schimpf making the throw to 1st. 

The Warriors offense was on the war path with 3 doubles hit in the first inning by Mike Lindsey, Jantzen Witte and Mike Hill.  In the 2nd Matt Schimpf hit a double and scored on a pass ball.  Chase Brown hit a triple.  In the 4th Schimpf and Bateman hit singles with Schimpf scoring on Bateman's hit.  In the 5th inning Mike Chovanec hit a single and scored on Mike Hill's double.  The final inning the Warriors wrapped it up by run ruling the Colts after 5 straight base hits by Bateman, Dylan Thompson, Lindsey, Witte and Chovanec.
