Game Summary
Hello Win Column – Great way to begin District Play!! The Warrior Freshmen
team’s losing streak ended at one when they bested the Cedar Hill Longhorns 5 –
0 behind the pitching of Josh Bragg, bringing Bragg’s record to 2 - 0. Although
Travis Breslin started it out with a single in the bottom of the first he was
left stranded. During the third inning Daniel Garcia reached on a fielder’s
choice and then Dylan “Boom Boom” Rucker stepped to the plate. With a count of
2 balls and 1 strike Rucker took his fourth pitch yard!!! His homerun scored
the first two runs for the Warriors bringing himself and Garcia home. In the
fourth the Warriors added three insurance runs. Breslin once again had a
single, followed by a double from Garcia and a triple from Rucker. Stewart
Person got an RBI scoring Rucker when he reached due to an error at 2nd
base. Solid defensive play with no Warrior errors, insured the win. Garcia
picked off two Longhorns trying to steal 2nd throwing to shortstop,
Chase Jensen. Bragg also made a phenomenal play, catching up to a ball hit
towards the third base side of the mound and then turning and gunning down the
runner at first. In seven innings Bragg faced 23 Longhorns, striking out 7,
walking only 2 and allowing 3 hits and 0 runs.
