Martin - 4, L.D. Bell 3
Game Summary
The Freshmen Warriors extended their win streak to four games with a hard fought 4-3 win in a non-district contest against L.D. Bell. The game was close all the way, with the Warriors taking advantage of a couple of wild pitches to push two unearned runs across in the top of the 5th. In the bottom half of the 5th, the Blue Raiders got their leadoff man on, but a nice running catch by Martin centerfielder Michael Chovanec resulted in a double play when the base runner failed to tag up before advancing to second. The Blue Raiders threatened again in the bottom of the 6th, loading the bases with 1 out, but the Warriors held on for the victory. Kevin Winter started on the mound for the Warriors, and was relieved by Shane Griffin in the 4th inning. Chase Brown and Janzten Witte led the Warriors hitting with 2 hits each.
