Martin - 11, Cedar Hill 3
Game Summary
Cedar Hill starting pitcher Heston Johnson seemed to have the Warrior hitters off-balance – at least the first time through the line-up. Then in the top of the 3rd, Martin second baseman Logan Batlle stepped to the plate and hit a towering pop-up behind short on an 0-2 pitch. The Eagle shortstop circled it a couple of times, but the wind played tricks on him, and the ball fell untouched for yet another unusual base hit – and the festivities began! By the time the 3rd out was recorded, Martin had batted around and scored 4 times. That was all the support Martin starting pitcher Josh Marshall would need, as he spread 3 hits over 6+ innings of work, allowing only 2 earned runs, and improving his record to 5-2 in the process. Turner Thornton made his 2nd appearance of the season in the 7th inning, striking out the only 3 batters he faced. Logan Batlle and Josh Marshall each recorded 2 hits, while Richard Pumphrey had a ground-rule double and Chase Edwards a triple.
