Martin - 12, Sam Houston 7

Game Summary

A fast start by the Warrior offense helped Junior pitcher Nathan Karns run his record to 4-0.  Martin erupted for 10 runs in the first inning with doubles by Chase Edwards, Sean Garcia, Brett Kazmierski and Richard Pumphrey.  Finally, Filiberto Luna, the third pitcher of the inning for a beleaguered Sam Houston pitching staff, settled things down.  He ended up going the rest of the way for the Texans.  Nathan gave way to Turner Thornton in the 3rd inning for his first appearance of the year.  Turner pitched just the one inning, giving up only one hit and no runs.  Justin Bridges closed out the game for the Warriors, going the final 3 - 2/3rds innings.  Trent Blanchard added a double in the 4th, and Brett Kazmierski and Josh Marshall each had two hits.
