Game Summary
The Warriors broke out the heavy lumber as they coasted to an 8-2 district win over the Bowie Volunteers. The Vols jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the first on an unearned run, but their lead didn't last for long. In the second, Kyle Swearingen reached on an error and came around to score on Michael Lindsay's triple to deep center. Lindsay then scored on Shawn Peoples sacrifice fly to deep left center. In the third, Swearingen's triple to deep center scored Zach Laster to put the Warriors ahead 3-1. Lindsay doubled to deep center in the fourth, and came around to score on Will Keiser's single to right-center. The fireworks really began in the fifth when Laster took the first pitch over the right field wall for his 3rd homer of the year. Two batters later, Lindsay hit a towering shot over the 360 sign in right-center. Colin Schickedanz added two singles for the Warriors. Caleb Pedersen had a solid outing on the mound, with a complete game win. He ended the night with 7 strikeouts, 1 earned run, and no walks.
