Martin - 11, Duncanville 9

Game Summary

Freshman Warriors faced the Duncanville Panthers in a nail bitter at the beautiful Duncanville Stadium Tuesday night.  The Warriors battled hard and came up with the win in the final inning maintaining their undefeated record.  Jacob Mizell was the starting pitcher for Martin.  He was relieved in the 5th inning by Cameron Shuping who pitched 3 good innings for the win.  Several good defensive plays were NOT called in our favor, but this undefeated team did not give up – a sign of true Champions!  The final inning was perfect with the Warriors putting the Panthers 3 batters up, 3 batters down!

The Warrior offense was hot, hot, hot!  In the final inning, the Warriors were down 9-7.  Jordan Imhoff lit the fire leading off with a double.  Chase Brown took one for the team getting on base hit by a pitch.  Michael Hill hit a nice shot to left field which was dropped and this scored our first run of the inning bringing the score to 9-8.  Logan Melton placed a nice hit through the 3rd baseman and short stop which Chase Brown nearly ran into, running to 3rd!  Brown scored on Melton’s hit tying the score at 9-9.  Ben Folis was up next with a single to right field and scored Melton putting the Warriors in the lead 10-9.  Jantzen Witte was the Warriors final batter with a base hit to left field scoring Melton just before Folis was thrown out at second base, making the score 11-9.
